Sunset

As I see the sky, perching my eyes high,
The glory of the sun has now ended,
Time for the moon to brighten the sky;
The sun is changing its fur unattended.

The sky, all orange, turns cloudy;
Look yonder, the birds soar high
Setting off to a place more dandy
Bidding a warm farewell to the sky.

Sweet is the sensation of sunset
When one, filed grow strenuous day,
Wishes for sweet comfort only to get
The temptation of a bright new day.

As the wind, strong and cold
Brushes past against my sleeve,
I slip off the stairs but grab hold
Of a railing and suddenly heave.

A chill runs up my strong spine
Knocking me head over heels
And I splash into water that is fine
Except for the bunch of eels.

(I still strain to get a glimpse
Of the warm sunset which had led
Me into a fine mess, and I have cramps
Since that day I fell into the waterbed.)

Animals, short and sweet, scurry to their
Homes where they are cosy and warm
Away from the cold and they share
Enchanting tales of the day that has gone.

The trees stop their hustle-bustle now
And bid the sun a lovely goodbye,
"We will surely leave for now
But return tomorrow to the sky."

There is an eerie silence all around
Birds stop chirping and no one is seen
Outside their homes, not even a hound.
Nature has lost its lustre green.

The flowers begin to wilt and the leaves
Which were green all day begin to fall.
The exchange of gases through their sieves
Has stopped and has weakened them all.

The moon has started to come up
'Boo'ing the sun for good
The sun is starting to serve all up
With anger as one normally would.

There goes the sun, sweeping the sky
Of all the brightness and color.
Now only stars can be seen high
And not a drop of bright color.

Night has now come;
I wish to bid farewell,
Till the next sunset does come,
I wish to remain in my home, my shell.
